Ledwidge Through the Lens - Amateur Photography Competition
The Ledwidge Through the Lens photography competition aims to celebrate the poetry of Francis Ledwidge through photographic imagery. The competition requirement is to submit a photographic image which captures the essence of a line of Ledwidge poetry. The competition will run for the month of July and prizes will be awarded to the top three entries. For further detail please click here

Francis Ledwidge A Love Story - Faint Voices

There was a big turn out for the Francis Ledwidge Museum annual fundraising walk on Sunday 13th June. A large and diverse group of Ledwidge enthusiasts assembled at the gates at Beauparc House at 3pm.

The Planting of a Rose
As a prelude to the In the Footsteps of Ledwidge Walk on 13 June 2010 Mr. Bobby Forrest from Limavady Co. Derry planted a rose of special significance at the graveside of Ellie Vaughey on the Hill of Slane.

In the Footsteps of Ledwidge - Beauparc House Visit Sunday 13th June
On Sunday June 13th at 3pm we re-trace some aspect of Ledwidge’s life with a walk in the beautiful grounds of Beauparc House. We hope to incorporate a tour of the house and gardens with a walk by the old Beauparc Copper Mines in which Ledwidge worked for a time.

Ledwidge Day The life and poetry of Slane's most famous son Francis E Ledwidge is celebrated every year on the last Sunday in July. The date is now firmly established in the 'Events Calendar' and coincides with the anniversary of the poet's death on 31st July 1917. For more information please click here
President Honours Slane Poet 2004 On June 7th President McAleese honoured Slane poet Francis Ledwidge by visiting his final resting place just north of the city of Ieper in Belgium. For more information please click here
Francis Ledwidge Poetry Competition Winners 2004 The Francis Ledwidge poetry competition is open to students in Primary and Secondary schools in Meath, Louth, Monaghan and Cavan.
